KartBrain opens the files from your AiM MyChron timer right on your phone, as you come back into the pits. Laps, comparison, synchronised video, engine log — no computer, and the files never leave the device.
Free download, on iPhone and Android.
On a computer? Scan with your phone: it opens its own store straight away. kartbrain.app/app
Read a session between two stints, helmet under your arm.
Getting a session out of a MyChron used to take a PC, a cable and Race Studio — so nothing before getting back to the workshop. KartBrain puts all of it in the pocket of the driver, the mechanic or the parent at the trackside.
An open decoder, written in Rust, built into the app and checked file by file against the reference implementation. No upload, no waiting on the network: a paddock with no signal is enough.
The telemetry file never leaves the phone. The free plan works offline once you are signed in, with no usage statistics, no advertising and no tracker: of your sessions, the account only receives their fingerprint and their size.
Twice a month on Free, more with a plan: ask a question about the session — by voice or keyboard. The debrief answers from a numeric summary and your setup sheet, never from the file nor the driver's name.
From the pit lane to the workshop log.
.xrk, .xrz and .hrz files from a MyChron, no conversion. Everything below is in the app today.
Lap times, best lap in red, in and out laps greyed out because they don't compare. Before the first time is shown, the app checks what it decoded — channels, durations, truncated end — and says so.
Racing lines seen from above, speed, rpm, exhaust temperature, time gap to the reference lap. A shared cursor puts the karts at the same point of the track. Aligned on distance, not on time.
Corners are detected and numbered as on a track map. The stretch where time is lost is named by its corner and highlighted on the map.
The best lap of every session is kept on its own; compare June and August without reopening the files. Per circuit: the record, day-by-day progress, the ideal lap and the setups tried.
Your run video with speed, rpm, lap, corner and map position overlaid at the exact instant. An assistant syncs the video in three steps; a lap exports to MP4 for social media.
Each engine's hours counted from your files: since the last piston, the con-rod's state, the dated history. Same gesture for tyre sets and their laps, with the due date in red.
List the timer's sessions — date, circuit, best lap — and bring them onto the phone, no PC, no cable, no Race Studio. Each unit is recognised and gets its workshop name.
What the file doesn't contain: driver weight, track, gearing, carburation, tyres, chassis. It's what lets you decide between “brakes too early” and “understeer”.
One question about the session, one ranked answer: where time is lost, braking, pick-up, consistency. Dictate it to the mic, the answer is read aloud. One follow-up on Free, two on Standard and Pro, three on Expert.
One card per track day, one tap, one PDF in the share sheet: the day's summaries, sheets and debriefs, laid out on the phone.
An event's sheet: a preparation checklist to tick, heats with their notes, and the circuit's weather forecast when you ask for it.
The mechanic sees what the team manager sees: summaries, debriefs, engine logs and sheets shared, each under its author's name. A six-character code to join.
Several named timers at once, big digits, a single tap per pass. And a “to order” list to note at the track what will need buying.
Français, English, Italiano, Español, Português, Deutsch, Русский, 中文, हिन्दी. The app follows the phone's language; the debrief answers in yours.
Three gestures, no more.
Over Wi-Fi from the MyChron, from a file received by message, or by tapping an .xrk “Open with KartBrain”. Decoding takes the time of a glance at the track.
The laps, the integrity verdict, the three-lap comparison, the synced video. The best lap goes to the favourites by itself, the hours to the engine log.
What you fitted and felt, then a question to the debrief. The answer says where time is lost and — on Expert — the test to run next. One at a time.
Free on the phone. Paid to go beyond it.
A driver alone with their kart has a complete app, offline, forever. Free tries the debrief; Standard opens the vault, Pro video and syncing across devices, Expert the team. Same prices on the App Store and Google Play, in CHF.
We never charge later for what was given earlier. A cap applies to adding, never to what you already have: a log filled under Pro keeps its engines and their hours. And the app has never refused to open a file, wherever it comes from. Beyond the monthly quota, a pack of 5 debriefs can be bought in the app and never expires.
What stays, what leaves, and to whom.
Everything lives on the phone: sessions, favourites, sheets, logs, stopwatches. Decoding is local. On Free, no file is uploaded, copied or analysed remotely; no usage statistics, no advertising, no tracker. The account, which is required, receives from each kept session only its fingerprint and its size: that is what keeps your plan's place.
The account is created with an e-mail address and a one-time code — no password. For a debrief, the app sends a numeric summary, the sheet and your question; never the file, never the driver's name. The server keeps only the counters.
